How to get to the Conference Venue TechGate

Vienna Public Transport

Vienna has a fully integrated public transport network, we highly encourage to use. Between Monday and Friday, the underground, trams and buses run from approximately 5:00 until just after midnight. On Friday and Saturday as well as on the days preceding public holidays, the underground also runs throughout the night. Both during the week and at the weekend, NightLine buses complement the existing services as of midnight.

The closest underground station is “Kaisermühlen-VIC” on the U1, red line. It only takes a few minutes’ walk to the venue from the station.

**** UPDATE: The station “Kaisermühlen-VIC” is under construction so U1 will not stop in the direction “Leopoldau”. Please plan for a 10 minutes longer arrival journey with one of the two options:

  • Either travel on to station “Kagran” and take the next train back in the opposite direction and get out at “Kaisermühlen-VIC” (direction Oberlaa is not affected); or
  • take a nice walk from the previous station “Donauinsel” to TechGate.

Where to stay in Vienna – Hotels

We did not pre-book contingents at a specific hotel. Public transport in Vienna is excellent, so most hotels in Vienna will be a good choice. Nevertheless, for your convenience we would recommend a hotel near to underground (metro) line U1.
